Company History
Robert O. Wiesemann Sr. and his son Robert O. Wiesemann II founded Continental Carbonic in 1976. During its first 10 years, Continental Carbonic operated as a distributor of dry ice in Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri and Oklahoma.

In
the mid-1980s, Continental Carbonic began manufacturing dry ice in
Decatur, Illinois. Throughout the late '80s and '90s, Continental Carbonic
expanded to the south and the west by acquisition and construction
of strategically located dry ice manufacturing facilities and branch
offices to provide a ready supply closer to a continually growing customer
base. The company opened branch offices to market the increased production
capacity and to quickly react to customer service needs. Continental Carbonic's
decentralized distribution philosophy enabled it to provide a reliable
source of dry ice while remaining the low-cost supplier in the markets
it served, as it continues to do today.
Continental Carbonic has enjoyed an unbroken record of profitability since its inception, with more than $70,000,000 in annual sales.
