LCO2 to Extract Underground Oil

LCO2 helps extract oilThe bubbles in your holiday party champagne are carbon dioxide. A new technology using carbon dioxide bubbles to extract underground oil may increase the recoverable oil reserves of the United States by 89 billion barrels, a big increase over the present proved reserves of 21.9 billion barrels. An additional potential of 430 billion barrels, in 110 billion barrel increments, has also been identified.

Pumping carbon dioxide into depleted oil fields will enable the extraction of oil that otherwise would not be recoverable. Experience in Texas with carbon dioxide injection reveals that it thins the oil, making it easier to get the oil from the rock layers.

Continental Carbonic Products supports green initiatives and can sell liquid carbon dioxide for injection tests.  Continental Carbonic Products has many years of carbon dioxide production and handling experience that could be helpful to this research.  Increasing our domestic crude oil supply will reduce our dependence on foreign oil.
