Dry Ice Blasting:

Continental Carbonic Products, Inc. and Pennsylvania Grain Processing, LLC Finalized CO2 Supply Agreement

Continental Carbonic Products, Inc. (CCPI), a subsidiary of Matheson Tri-Gas, Inc., announced that it has entered into an agreement with Pennsylvania Grain Processing, LLC (PGP) for the supply of carbon dioxide (CO2) from PGP’s Clearfield, PA grain processing plant. CCPI will be building a high capacity liquid CO2 and dry ice manufacturing facility adjacent to the PGP plant in Clearfield.

Continental Carbonic has enjoyed significant growth in its core business of producing and delivering high quality dry ice and liquid CO2 to its customers. CCPI’s Clearfield facility will allow for continued growth and employ more than 60 full-time workers when running at full production. These 60 new jobs are in addition to the 85 people PGP currently employs, bringing total direct employment to 145 at the repositioned industrial site.

“Continental Carbonic Products is a significant force in the U.S. dry ice market,” said Eric Meeuwsen, General Manager of PGP. “We are pleased to have them join us at our Clearfield grain processing plant, and look forward to advancing our common business interests, as well as contributing to the growth and prosperity of the Clearfield area. This growth illustrates another valuable product produced from the same grain processed to make clean-burning, high-octane, renewable ethanol.”

“Pennsylvania Grain Processing is exactly the type of high quality, high integrity strategic partner we look for when we expand our business,” said John Funk, President of Continental Carbonic. “They have had an outstanding record of operating safely, reliably and profitably. We also want to thank the Clearfield community and the Governor’s Action Team for their hard work providing the economic framework to make this project successful and for their warm welcome.”

Local officials stated that the city and county are equally enthusiastic about the project.

“City officials have always touted the benefits of having PGP as a corporate citizen in the Clearfield community,” explained Clearfield Mayor James Schell. “While working on this project, we have found that Continental Carbonic has demonstrated the same levels of professionalism and integrity that have made PGP a valued part of the community.”
