For most Americans, 4th of July is a summer holiday associated with baseball, hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill, homemade potato salad, and fireworks. This year, Continental Carbonic would like to focus on our employees’ and our customers’ safety – while working and enjoying the holiday.
Continental Carbonic has made a big effort over the past few years to emphasize and bring more company-wide awareness to the importance of workplace safety. While it has always been important to us to work in a safe environment and to educate our customers on how to properly handle dry ice and dry ice blasting equipment, we have come to realize simply saying, “Be safe” is not enough.
The last thing Continental Carbonic wants is someone to get hurt, especially when it can be prevented. The safety of our customers is just one reason we offer training for those who rent, lease-to-own, or purchase dry ice blasting equipment from us. We want our employees to know how to use the equipment properly and to teach our customers how to do the same. One of the ways we try to spread the word to a wider audience on safely handling dry ice and dry ice blasting machines is through our blog posts like this one and our recent post on personal protective equipment (PPE).
Continental Carbonic also wants its employees and customers to be safe outside the workplace, especially over this long, holiday weekend. We caution you to be careful, to be aware of your surroundings (especially around fireworks), and to take a moment to ask yourself, “Is what I’m about to do safe?” If the answer is no, please don’t do it. We want to avoid injury and enjoy our freedom in the safest way we can – both at work and at home.
Happy Independence Day, America! Stay safe!
