Want to add extra pizazz to your Jack-O-Lanterns this year? You can with dry ice. Find a plastic container that is taller than the eyes of your pumpkin and fill it about half full with hot water. Place the glass inside your carved pumpkin. Using tongs and cotton gloves add two or three pieces of dry ice to the hot water and re-cover the top of your pumpkin. Because the carbon dioxide fog sinks, the fog will flow out of the eyes, nose and mouth of your spooky Jack-O-Lantern.
Keep in mind, one pound of dry ice will create 2-3 minutes of fog effect when placed in warm water. Also, the warmer the water, the quicker the dry ice will dissipate.
