Quality Control
To ensure our customers receive the highest quality dry ice, we video record all dry ice production and frequently test liquid CO2 and dry ice purity. Independent third-party audits are conducted annually.
Quality Statement: The right product, the right quantity, the right time, safely delivering on commitments and sustained through continuous improvement.
Our Continued Investment in Quality:
At Continental Carbonic Products, all our carbon dioxide plants which produce dry ice are FSSC 22000 certified. While not required by law, we have continued to proceed with this certification. FSSC 22000 started 15 years ago delivering an impact on food safety. The certification provides a model used in the food manufacturing industry and the related supply chain to ensure food safety standards and processes. FSSC 22000 is Global Food Safety Initiative “GFSI” recognized and follows the food chain category description as defined in ISO 22003-1:2022.
Superior Containers Minimize Sublimation Loss
Dry ice converts (or sublimates) from a solid to a gas from the minute it’s produced. Continental Carbonic minimizes sublimation losses by using top quality insulated dry ice containers. All food grade customers receive their dry ice in insulated, stainless steel-lined containers. Our true and honest weights and superior containers mean you get more for your money with Continental Carbonic.
Latest Dry Ice Manufacturing Technology
At Continental Carbonic Products, we ensure proper automated inspection procedures for any foreign object detection in the dry ice process. This mitigates risk in your supply chain to detect any abnormalities in a process by rejecting product before it leaves the production facility. We utilize proprietary box tracking technology in our supply chain to keep containers in the best condition possible in order to get quality product to your facilities with minimal losses. This will also help your supply chain to mitigate costs by transporting ice in optimal conditions to minimize sublimation. Depending on the size and packaging of your product, such as frozen foods, alternative perishables including lab specimens, optimal product and packaging suggestions are available to you from our team with decades of experience. Alternative analyses are available upon request depending on your application and challenges you may be trying to overcome. We utilize sub cooling technology to improve the conversion rate during the dry ice manufacturing process leading to a superior product.
Sanitization of Equipment
Continental Carbonic thoroughly washes dry ice containers every time they are returned to our plants. We utilize automatic box washers with hot water as high as 185 degrees to sanitize our stainless steel dry ice containers. This allows us to eliminate chemicals from our processes and reduce physically handling our dry ice containers.
Continental Carbonic performs routine cleaning on all dry ice production equipment and dies. Pellet machine shrouds are used to prevent contamination during pellet dry ice production.
